The Pilgrimage to Sefai Utaki

Whilst I was in Okinawa, my Mer-Aunt Hiroko and her daughter Lea came to visit. I took them to Sefai Utaki, which is the holiest sacred site on the main island of Okinawa. Sefai Utaki looks out to Kudaka Island, which was where the goddess Amamikiyo first descended to on Earth. Sefai Utaki was created by the goddess Amamikiyo and it was the first place where the early Ryuku people settled.

I make sure that I visit Sefai Utaki place every time I return to Okinawa to build a relationship with the place. The energy feels like it has grown on me since first visiting here in 2011.

Today Hiroko and I walked this place barefoot to really connect with every step made here. As soon as we entered, we felt the holiness of this place. The calls of the trees, the cool breeze and the strong presence of the Spirit here. It actually feels like the Utaki itself was once a place that resided under the ocean.

There is a strong mermaid energy here, the stones have the appearance of coral-like boulders with mermaids and dragons peering through the holes.

We visited the various prayer spots and made our offerings, meditated, and welcomed Spirit's communication with us. We played tuning forks here that sang the harmonics of the Universe.

There is a strong presence of horses at one of the utakis (pictured above and below).

Horses are the offspring of Dragons. This Horse rock was used as an oracle for prophecy and divination.

These 2 naturally formed triangular rocks lead to the holiest altar of Sefai Utaki. The altar looks out to Kudaka Island.

It is such a blessing to be in the presence of such a beautiful and sacred place. I give thanks to the land for inviting us here and may we return again.

Journey to Awaji Jima

During my visit to Japan last month, I made a stopover in mainland Japan to visit my Mer-Sister Miyuki. I spent the evening in Himeji and was able to view the Cherry Blossoms from Himeji Castle the next morning. They were very beautiful and we had a great time before meeting up with our Miyuki's brother and our fellow Mer friends and making the journey to Awaji Jima.

It was a pleasant drive to Awaji Jima. A little bit on the background of Awaji Jima; when the Japanese islands were first created, it was the first island created by the Izanumi and Izanagi.

As you could imagine, the energy of Awaji Jima is very sacred, with many shrines to visit and many places to connect with the ancient energy of Japan. Here are some photos from our time here.

We went on a boat ride to see the Naruto (whirlpools). There were many dragons stirring about in the ocean to cleanse and move the energy here.

We visited a beach called "Five Stones Beach" and we cleaned the beach.

Here is the total amount that we cleaned from the beach.

We collected many branches that had washed ashore at this beach to use in magic wand making that night. We were awake for until the early hours of the next morning!

The sun rose and the dragons flew into the sky.

It was a wonderful trip and an exciting, magickal adventure. We blended an essence there which you will find out more about soon! I look forward to our next meeting!

Today Will Never Come Again

"If you're depressed, you're living in the past. If you're anxious you're living in the future. If you're at peace, you're living in the present." Lao Tzu

To open up our blog post with this quote by Lao Tzu is to ask you today to think about where your thinking is at and what kind of timeline you are living in. Sure we all like to say that the past is done and dusted, however, we still hold conscious memories, thoughts, and attitudes towards these things. It is empowering to find strength and light in what we perceive as our shadows or our dark side, so it's always helpful to check in with ourselves and to see what we are really thinking or feeling.

"Today will never come again. You will never be exactly where you are right now in your life with yourself or anyone else ever again!"

To be present, is to live without being too attached to the past and wishing things were like before, or waiting for a 'better' moment to come in the future before living your life to the fullest and choosing to accept and take responsibility for your life.

I can reflect on these statements exactly as they are, as this is truly important for me as someone who has recently returned to Australia to live and work all whilst temporarily leaving behind my wife and boys. If I were to be depressed or clinging too tightly on yesterday, last week, month, and year/s, then I wouldn't be able to achieve anything and I would not be able to make the most of my opportunities at this very moment. The same would go for if I were to only be happy if my family were with me. Sure I'd be very excited and delighted to have my family with me, however that's something that is coming and something that I need to be patient for.

Right now at this very moment, I draw my inspiration from watching my newborn Son. He is completley present at this moment. He goes day by day, growing, changing, and enjoying his surroundings. He lets go of what no longer serves him, and every day is a new day. We'll all be together soon! :)

So you can see how important this concept is for me right now, as to be grounded and truly present, I need to be in a place where I can enjoy each day and each moment, and in my absence, wish the same for my family, and also wish the same for everyone else.

Every single moment here is precious. In essence, there is no time to be grouchy at your loved ones, to quarrel or hold grudges with the ones that you care about. To put simply, it could be seen as a waste of energy to get involved in something that drags your spirits down and only makes you feel worse.

Forgive yourself and others for what has been done and is in the past. Rejoice in who you are today and create a better today and tomorrow!

No matter where you are, who you are with, or what you are doing. Enjoy it and live it out as a beautiful gift that comes to life in every moment of your involvement, interaction, and intention. Every moment of life is magickal and full of creativity. I'm being patient and I'm enjoying each day. I wish you all a beautiful day!
