This week we are purifying, releasing, and gathering strength with the assistance of the compassionate Buddhist goddess, Tara. As a goddess of many aspects, we are focusing on White, Green, and Red Tara in this meditation.

Aging is a natural and a wonderful part of life. It signifies the time that you've spent on this planet and it is symbolic of your treasured years throughout your life. Something that comes to our attention is the emphasis that society places on people - marketing directed to 'look younger' or to give off the impression that being younger than older or older than younger is desired. Every age has its new opportunities of growth and experience in life. In fact, every year is a treasure year, a golden year. Sure there may be the years where there are certain ups and downs in your life, however, keep in mind that no one particular age is better than the other just because someone else says so. Finding humour and joking about 'old age' is something we find questionable - what is so peculiar about someone aging? It is just as natural as someone breathing. Perhaps there is an underlying fear of becoming older? Aging is a part of growing up. Rather than trying to run from it, go with the flow and know that as you age, you grow wiser, more beautiful, and more in touch with yourself and others than ever before! More and more products are marketed to remove wrinkles, to remove grey hairs, to restore vitality - sure it's a nice thing to look after yourself, but be sure to remember that you are not looking outside of yourself or rejecting yourself because of marketing aimed to create that effect. Age is timeless, and you really only are as old as you feel. It can be looked at both ways - children wanting to grow up fast so they can take on new responsibilties, and people in their older years, their 40s, 50s, and 60s, wishing they were 20 and 30 again. Many people comment on my appearance and automatically assume that I am in my late teenage years/early twenties. Recently I got asked what my secret for this was. My reply was simply - "Nourish your body, mind, and soul. Life isn't about worrying about what number is clocked up against your name. Enjoy every moment, day, week, month, year, decade, and lifetime as your treasure moments!" Life is not about worrying or stressing, so let go of the need for these things to run your life and create tension. There's more to it than simply wishing to be a different age. Acting your age isn't about you being what someone else expects you to be by the time you reach a certain number of your life. It is different for everyone. Honour and respect that, for we all have our aspects of son, father, and sage, just as we have our aspects of maiden, mother, and crone to work through and embrace. Accept yourselves for all that you are and all that you have, knowing that every moment of your life is precious and desirable, for you yourself have chosen this in one way or another. Your life is a blessing! Claim it as yours and live it to the fullest. Life, like any relationship, is not about you counting your years, but it is about you making you years count! Blessings and love, Nathan and Friends O:) Last week, we were asked to guest facilitate at the Northern Beaches Spiritual Development Circle in Avalon, NSW. Here is a recording from the night. Thank you to our friend, Fiona Weatherhead, for sharing her space and her warm welcome. Enjoy. Love from Nathan and Friends To empower you on Valentine's Day, we thought we would upload next week's meditation earlier, to empower lovers of all kinds, whether it be self-lovers, committed lovers, lovers of life, and so on, to join us on the venture into Guinevere's Sanctuary in this guided meditation. Enjoy <3 Love from Nathan and Friends O:) Last week we began, recording, uploading, and sharing our weekly meditation that we facilitated in our Monday Night Meditation Group at Beyond Health Wellbeing Clinic, Caringbah, NSW. Meditation equips you with the mindset necessary to deal with the different things that emerge during your week. It is gentle, empowering, non-competitive, and transformational! Our meditations are a combination of breathing techniques, visualisations, and invokations of different energies and beings who empower us to reconnect with different aspects of ourselves. These meditations are two part meditations, to encourage you to journal, reflect, and grow from your experiences along the way. This week, we are working with Chiron, the benevolent healer and teacher, invoking strength, courage, and the Divine Empowered Masculine. Enjoy. This is your time to get on top of it for the year so that it does not leave without you. This is your year to reach for your dreams and put them into action. As you gallop ahead, you are connected to the Earth and the land, and you are connected to yourself. Be one with this horse, for it is an extension of your ambitious side. Be daring, be free, knowing that with whatever you set your mind to, you can achieve it. There is a healer within you, who calls for the nurturance of your Self on this journey. With all the work that you are doing for this year, ensure that your health is your priority also. This may entail learning more about health and healing work, or perhaps opening yourself up to different things of the natural world. Consciousness is expanding, so it is no surprise that more and more people are becoming more accepting of what is available in your everyday world. Magick is becoming more everyday and commonplace, and this is creating a world where science and knowledge can come together and co-exist. Seek to bridge the gaps in your learning and teach one another. With reverance, respect, and gratitude, we bless to you." I'm going to use skateboarding as my example of applying spellcasting and magick into everyday life. Magick and spellcasting comes from working with what is naturally within you and all around you. The seasons, the tides, the energies of the planet and environment. Contrary to popular belief, it is not as mysterious or mystical as pop-culture has portrayed it. A spell in essence, is the gathering and focus of energy which is then used for creation. Everything that we consciously or unconsciously, do, say, and think creates something new in our lives. This can happen through what naturally comes to fruition as a result of the energies given off when we interact with the mental, physical, and spiritual parts of our lives. As everything is created through vibration, everything that comes out from us, whether it be thought, words, deeds, rituals, and so forth, sends out an energy into the world. What follows afterwards leads to further creation and manifestation of it into the world. Something that I have seen a lot of is spells for skateboarders who may or may not even know that what they are doing in their board setup rituals are spells themselves. Some cut out images into the griptape of their skateboards, or draw or write little symbols or words onto it. This is to embed the board with the magickal blessings of the power of these symbols and words. I had a friend who used to grab a corner of his shirt and make a sign of the cross before filming each of his tricks. A bit like his way of acknowledging his power and giving him his confidence to overcome all and succeed, to which he did most of the time. Aside from the little rituals that I have noticed in some skateboarders, I would like to comment on the nature of connecting with the five elements as a skateboarder and how this has assisted the process of learning, progressing, having fun, and creating physically through movement, and visually through video filming and editing; - Feeling my board under my feet is my most obvious connection to Earth when I am out skateboarding. A connection to the element of Earth is also made in rolling around in the environment, whether it be in the park or in the street and making your own personal connection with your surroundings, be in wheels, boards, hands, feet and so on. - Fire makes its connection in skateboarding through the passion which comes from creativity and inspiration. The fire is always lit as the possibilities to skateboard at a spot are limitless. I also feel that fire is the drive that comes from wanting to create something, whether it be landing a trick or filming a trick for someone else, that makes us switch into a trance-like state to override and overcome doubt, fear, and anyone or anything that tries to stand in the way. - The element of Air comes from not only being off the ground, but in the way that logic and thought ties in with being able to make those quick decisions and coordinate body and mind as one unit. Air also makes its connection present through applying wisdom and knowledge of how a concept will initally play out in this game! - The element of Water comes with being able to imagine and visualise and make that a reality. Imagining the possibilities, rolling up to something, doing something, and rolling away. See it in your mind and feel it in your body. Smile at success! Looking at a spot in a unique and skating it in an intuitive way, that is the essence of connecting to the element of water. Go with the flows, notice the tides - when is your street spot best to skate? Is road or human traffic affected by the timing of when you go there? - Spirit makes its presence noticed on a skateboard through the feeling of simply being when all of these elements work together and fun is had. Looking back on the end of the day, whether it be in reflection or taking a look at photos or video footage, it is such an inspiring and empowering feeling. Reflecting on skateboarding and the influence of the elements, I am proud to openly declare that I, am a spellcaster. I work with what is natural, and that is magick. Intention into action, focus into the hocus and the pocus. There is nothing mystical or mysterious about it. It is all very real, far more real than we any of us have ever realised. I am sure that you are a spellcaster yourself as well. Knowing this, you can live and lead a more mindful and present life, creating all the things that are for your highest good! I'm sure that there are many other spells or rituals that can be seen as "spells", due to the purpose they serve and the meaning which they have been given over the years. If you would like to post about your own instances of spellcasting in your everyday life, we would love to hear more from you. Thank you :) Blessings and love, Nathan and Friends O:) Casting spells and working natural magic is about empowering you to understand what goes on in life through becoming attuned to what is within a person and what is going on around them - the elements, seasons, tides, lunar cycles, environment, and availability of resources. Now that we have a basic idea about what a spell is, it is important to note, that any kind of a ritual, in truth, is a spell. It involves thinking of an intention and acting upon that intention through a series of actions. One very common example of a spell is blowing out candles for a birthday cake. It is a spell going back to Roman Times to honour the goddess Diana, for good wishes and to celebrate the moon and goddess.
Have a think about some of the rituals in your life and see if you can discover any insights into their origins, and reflect on the intention and impacts that they have on your life. Taking guided action and creating something new in your life is like diving off a waterfall. Initially it might be scary standing at the edge and looking down into the water. You've got the intention to land in the water, and once you are on the edge, looking at that water below you, you realise that the water is flowing off the cliff naturally and it will catch you. Leap! The water isn't going anywhere! This same principle is applied to making things happen in your life. Set your intention, do what you need to in order to follow up with it, and just go for it. Trust nature! Life beckons us to give it a shot and to give it all that we've got. We learn from the past and aspire for the future, however, it is what we do in the here and now that brings the magic to life. Many of us do not have life simply handed to us on a plate, nor do we magically arrive at our destination without a journey, without a purpose, without any effort involved. Where would our 'being' in life take place if we just appeared? Creation is a process that takes place in the present moment, one step at a time. I'd like to briefly share a little story about my own leap of faith and the creation that followed. Last year when I left Australia for Okinawa, Japan, all I had packed with me was my suitcase and a feeling that I would be staying in Okinawa longer than my intended 2 months. I arrived in the August, spent some time with my Fiancee (we weren't married yet), and then did a homestay and internship with the International School. When this internship finished, I had another 2 weeks in Okinawa before I was supposed to return to Sydney. During those extra 2 weeks, I applied for an English Teacher job at the International School. My departure date was getting close, and it was 3 days before I was set to fly back to Sydney. I had not heard back from my job application. I couldn't bear the thought of leaving Kumiko behind once again. My Monkey Mind was chattering away saying "what are you going to do for work if you stay longer in Okinawa?" "what if you don't get this job and you're stuck in Okinawa? How will you support yourself?" "what if?" "what if?" I meditated upon it, and I felt that feeling of staying longer. It felt right and it felt really really good - a warmth in my heart. Despite the chatter of Monkey Mind, I thought of my present moment feelings and my heart said to stay in Okinawa. Right away, I rescheduled my flight back to Sydney and decided to extend my stay until the end of the year to visit Sydney with Kumiko. I also purchased another flight from Sydney to Okinawa. All the same flights as Kumiko. "Well Universe, I leave this up to you." And so I did. Monkey Mind was worrying again. "What if you made the wrong decision?", it chattered. I breathed deeply, and I let those feelings go. Within the next hour, the school called my cellphone, telling me that my job application was accepted. They asked me when I could start working. I started work at my new school on the following Monday and I stayed in Okinawa for an extra year. Being away from home, made me feel more at home with myself. I felt empowered as a teacher, like I could accept and claim my role and newfound passion for teaching. I felt empowered as a Clairvoyant Healer, as I was living and leading by example and really putting myself to the test - applying principles that I had taught to my clients and students over the years, to really embrace those teachings and make them a part of my life. Although probably not commonly known as a Pagan society, Okinawa, was just that - rich in their cultural aspects, worship of the lands and ancestors, it felt wonderful to be in a place that was so accepting and welcoming! I felt strongly guided to return to Sydney, Australia in October this year, two months earlier before my wife and family, I left Okinawa with a sense of nerves and excitement, and as the time for my family's arrival draws near, and there are things to consider about our future here together, I reflect on the things that created all this in first place. My leap of faith, taking guided action, and giving life all that I have to give. I love my life and I love my family. Thank you Universe for giving me the opportunities to strengthen my connection with the all that is and thank you for the opportunities that I am presented to exercise my Divine Magic, which is inherent, inborn, and a part of each and all living things. Blessings, love and light, Nathan and Friends O:) Recently, I spent a week away with my friend Lucy and her family, to celebrate her recent marriage to Pete. It was carried out in the most joyous of occasions. It was a wonderful time away to connect with the natural surroundings and sacred Aboriginal energies of the countryside of NSW, Australia. One of the most treasured things that I came across during my time away, was the fact that people of many different paths had all come together, to share in union, the blessings that a celebration like this could bring. As we write this, we are reminded in the sharing of Spirit amongst friends from many walks of life, to the point which the initial thought of a clash of cultures is transformed into a coming together of hearts and souls, reminding us all that at the end of the day, we are all connected, all one unity consciousness. Reflecting upon this, it brings me back to the days of old, where we would have had to travel to a specific part of the world for certain intiations to learn certain things from a particular culture or place. To even get an initial glance of a member of a specific culture, whether it be someone of a nationality, to someone of a spiritual path and so forth, a whole journey would have had to be made to simply be in the presence of one. I for one, had never made a magickal tool before and found myself inspired to create something new every day :) What makes my heart sing as we think of this is how much more accessible it is to come together once again - to experience different paths, different people, and gain insights into a diverse way of experiencing life. It was a weekend of fun, whether one was a surfer or a pagan, a tradesperson or a mystic, an artist or an intellectual, young or old, fae folk or canine, and so forth, these are all names that we associate with in a more thinker-mind, human sense. Transcending all names to unite as souls, all came together, all had a common purpose, and all sent out their positive intentions for the wonderful union of these two beautiful souls. To see how a common purpose can be achieved through celebration is a marker of how our paths can intertwine and interact on a more open scale than long, long, ago. It is something that we can truly cherish and something that can remind us, that each of us has our own story to tell and our own way to share, teach, and learn from one another. Blessings, and love, Nathan and Friends O:) |
